Every batch of our products is tested for both safety (heavy metals) and active ingredients. We use objective ISO 17025 certified laboratories.

• Already in 2012 we started specifying beta-glucans (the main active ingredient of most medicinal mushrooms) on our supplement fact labels. This was a time when 95 % of mushroom supplements had zero specifications (not being extracted) and the rest mentioned 'polysaccharides' at best, a broad term covering a lot of non-bioactive compounds, in the core unsuitable as a quality marker. Currently beta-glucans are widely accepted as a quality marker, using an AOAC-validated test method.

• We are the first ones specifiying cordycepin as a quality marker for Cordyceps and the first and the only ones to specify the ganoderic acids that are the trademark of Reishi. In short, we have set and pointed out quality standards since we started.

Basic background of Shilajit - Mumijo

It can be used both internally e.g. after dissolving it in pure, non-chlorinated water (despite the traditional ayurvedic recommendations - never use milk ! Milk neutralizes the polyphenols / anti-oxidant potential !) and externally (dissolving it in body lotion or creme is seen often in Russia).

Shilajit is a complex combination of several dozens of macro- and micro elements, minerals, amino acids, vitamins, plant sterols, fulvic acid and humic acid. ORIVeDA 's Shilajit - Mumijo

Oriveda Shilajit is the only one that was tested using official AOAC standards. It is the only one that can be trusted 100%

ORIVeDA guarantees both the authenticity and quality - our product was validated using acknowledged objective tests.

Shilajit (or 'Mumijo' as it's called in Russia) is an extremely rare natural substance, only found in some mountain ranges like the Himalaya and the Altai mountains.

Because of its rarity and its hyped reputation as a panacea (it is also one of the last remaining 'rasayana's' in Ayurveda) a lot of people see good business opportunities. This has lead to a enormous stream of bad, unreliable and even dangerous products.

What is particularly striking is that apart from ORIVeDA nobody is using the authorised AOAC lab standard to test for the main active ingredients in Shilajit: the fulvic- and humic-acid fractions. Go to the quality control page for our objective test results. And an authenticity test - it exists, but only 2 vendors actually use it - and this includes us.

The only reasons not to test we can come up with are that the outcome is disappointing and/or ignorance of the vendor.

The number of bad or even dangerous products is high. Like, mixes of burnt sugar with propolis, Ozokerite, herbal shilajit (!?), you name it...

Let's face it, a natural substance, more rare than gold or diamonds, that takes several decades to form a layer one millimeter thick can never be available in the quantities that are currently offered online, and definitely not for low prices.

'Guaranteed levels of fulvic acid !' some sellers claim; but they don't have reliable test reports backing up their claims. Natural Shilajit - Mumijo contains at least 7 % of ashless fulvic / humic acids according to Russian research; 7% is the minimum (Russian Federal Standard). Anything below that threshold is not allowed to be sold as Shilajit - Mumijo.

ORIVeDA Shilajit contains ± 15 % fulvic acid and ± 7 % humic acids, depending on the moisture level percentages can be significantly higher. Tested in compliance with the official AOAC standards.

Processing Shilajit - Mumijo (e.g. when turning it into tablets, powder, tinctures) involves heat and adding stabilizers, additives etc, and usually involves the use of metal equipment, which means the natural composition of Mumijo • Shilajit (and the resulting synergy) is affected. Many of the amino acids will be destroyed (because of heat) and several other components will oxidize and change properties (by getting in touch with metal).

After being authenticitated ORIVeDA Shilajit - Mumijo is cleaned/purified using a tried and tested -patented- Russian method based on low temperature and centrifugal processing. This is followed by air-drying to ensure a moisture level ≤ 7 %.

This is very important, because contaminated or high-moisture products easily develop mould and uncontrolled oxidation and fermentation might occur. The resulting raw material is then checked for heavy metals and other contamination (yeast, mold, e-coli, salmonella, mites) that is not allowed in food or dietary supplements. After that a sanitary certificate is issued.
